The fading colors of Fall are slowly swallowed by the afternoon shadows as our train descends the mountain on the return trip to Cass, West Virginia. This train, led by Shay locomotive #6 pushed our train from the valley floor at Cass, West Virginia along the Greenbrier River to a point on the mountain just beyond the peak you see on the left.

This image represents a cropped version of a larger panorama view and is one of my in-motion panoramas that I really enjoy creating. The image was created from seven side by side images that were clicked off at a very fast shutter speed to capture/freeze the motion of the locomotive and surrounding scenery and then brought together into a seamless wide (or) panorama view.
