From Lovers Leap on Dan's mountain, overlooking the Cumberland Narrows - Allegheny County, MD

Mother Nature seemed a little narrow minded again this year when she handed out the fall colors.

I worked on the railroad for many years and had a great view from the cab of the locomotive. Working on the railroad afforded me the oppourtunity to see places and things that most people never get to see as well as scope out new photo locations for a later visit.

The loaded coal train you see in the image, has just decended the famous "Sand Patch Grade". Dropping over 1000 feet in about 20 miles, Sand Patch Grade is one of the steepest railroad grades on the East Coast.

This image can be cropped in a variety of ways including, square, rectangle and vertical shapes and still include a good portion of all aspects.
