Mikly Way over Spruce Knob

I made camp at Spruce Knob this night with the temteratures hovering around 35 degrees. The elevation is 4,863 feet and this is the highest point in the state of West Virginia and the highest peak in the Allegheny Mountains. I was lucky there were only light and scattered clouds. The Milky Way was a very slendid sight to behold with very little light polution in this isolated region.

Although late in the evening, the illumination of the setting sun captures the clouds to the west with the Milky Way above.
